About Manito Shrine Club

We support local special needs children, the Shrine Hospital for Children in Montreal and raise funds for orthopaedic treatments and burn injuries. We provide transportation and care to patients needing hospital treatment from the Georgian Triangle to the Ramses Hospitals for Children regardless of a family’s ability to pay or insurance status.

Who would qualify for a referral:

Any child age 18 or under (with care continuing up to age 21) qualifies for a referral if they have a condition treated by the hospital. Shriners Hospitals for Children in Montreal specializes in orthopedics, neuromuscular conditions, and complex reconstructive surgery. Acceptance is based entirely on medical needs, regardless of a family’s ability to pay or insurance status.

Conditions Treated

The Montreal Shriners Hospital focuses on skeletal, muscular, and joint conditions, including:

• Orthopedics: Scoliosis and spinal cord injuries, clubfoot, leg length discrepancies, hip dysplasia, and skeletal growth abnormalities.
• Neuromuscular Conditions: Cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and arthrogryposis.
• Genetic & Bone Disorders: Osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease) and marble bone disease.
• Other Needs: Limb deficiencies, sports medicine, and severe hand or plastic deformities.
